What is Reading Counts?
Reading Counts is an independent reading accountability program that measures and tracks reading progress for students in grades 1-5.
LRES is excited to use Reading Counts because it is proven to develop reading skills, helps raise test scores, and motivates students to read, read, read!

How does the program work?
  • First, read a book!  Search for books with quizzes at readingcountsbookexpert.tgds.hmhco.com
  • Then, take a quiz on a computer at school and earn points for quiz scores of at least 7 out of 10.
  • Awards and points earned carry over every year that a student is at LRES!

When can students take quizzes?
  • Students can take quizzes:
    • in class with their teacher's permission.
    • on Wednesday mornings before school at 8:20am-8:50am in Room 402 (Ms. Richardson's classroom)

Prize Guidelines:
  • Prizes will be awarded monthly, usually on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the morning flag ceremony.
  • Prize points will be totaled on the prior Thursday.
